What are the different types of Tillers?

Tines - The tines are the metal pieces that are rotated through the soil in the process of tilling the soil.

Motor -

Engine -

Starter – The tiller is started using either a recoil type pull starter coupled to the flywheel or using a starter motor powered by a battery.

Battery – The tiller battery is used to start the engine in tillers that have a starter.

Hour Meter – The hour meter is device that measures the amount of time that the generator has been in use. Hour meters are important to determine when routine maintenance is needed. They are also a good tool to use in determining how much a tiller has been used when it comes to evaluating used tillers.

Frame – The frame is the chassis which secures the engine, gas tank and tines together. Often, in the case of smaller tillers, a wheel kit can be used to make tiller easier to transport.

Fuel – The fuel is stored in a fuel tank.   In the case of gasoline Tillers, fuel is transferred from the fuel tank to the carburetor using a fuel pump.

Fuel Filter – The fuel filter of a Tiller is used to keep the fuel system clean. Particles in gasoline or the gasoline tank can cause problems in the small orifices of carburetors.
